Moving abroad - what you need to know
Below we present some of the most valuable tips that will help you prepare for moving abroad without any unpleasant surprises. They can also save you a lot of time and nerves when deciding to move. Our advice is based on over ten years of experience in the industry. We hope you find our short list of essentials useful.
Preparing for the move
For many people, moving is an event that causes many emotions.
To avoid unnecessary stress, we advise you how to best prepare.
1. First of all, don't plan your move at the last minute.
2. Collect everything you need to make packing easier, i.e. boxes, bags, vacuum bags, markers
and fillers and protective materials (e.g. bubble wrap, foam, etc.).
3. Take a complete inventory of your belongings – by the way, this is the best time to sort through your belongings (and sell or throw away what you don't use).
4. Plan your packing method. For example, put things in one box for a specific room. Pack one closet or room at a time.
5. Label boxes carefully.
6. Prepare (dismantle) and protect furniture and household appliances in advance.
7. Pay special attention to delicate items and glass.
On moving day, if possible, ask family members or friends to help you move your belongings. This will streamline the entire moving process (in the case of international moves, there is always one driver).
